Application & Care Instructions

Our sticker and iron-on transfers are designed to be applied yourself. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to best apply your transfers.

Applying our iron-on transfers

What you'll need

  1. Your iron-on transfer

  2. An iron

  3. Your garment

  4. A cover sheet to avoid scorching your garment (i.e baking paper, an old shirt or scrap fabric - nothing thick or textured)

  5. An adult (if you don't consider yourself one)

Prep
Make sure your workspace is clear of all tails and toe beans. Make sure you've pre-washed and dried your garment, and that it is hair-free. You can lint-roll your item if you wish.

If your garment is COTTON, set your iron to a high heat setting
If your garment is MESH OR OTHER, set your iron to a low-medium heat setting

Instructions

  1. Iron your garment to ensure it's flat and free from any wrinkles or moisture.

  2. Remove the backing liner from your transfer.

  3. Place your transfer in the desired position on your garment liner side up. When you look at your transfer, it should be positioned how you want the final result to look with the liner on top.

  4. Place your cover sheet over the transfer. Place the middle of your heated iron down on top of the cover sheet and transfer and press down firmly. The press duration varies depending on the fabric.

    If your garment is COTTON:
Hold the iron down and apply pressure for 20 - 25 seconds. Resist the urge to iron back and forth, you want to apply both heat and pressure for the best results.

If your garment is MESH (e.g Wolves Mesh Bandanas, and Daisy Chains' Cooling Bark Bibs): Mesh bandanas are extremely light and do not need much heat applied to adhere the iron-on. The iron will only need to be applied in 8 - 10 second intervals. Press, then remove the heat and check the transfer. You can test the adherence by peeling back the liner and seeing if the transfer has stuck.

If your iron-on is HOLOGRAPHIC or GLITTER: You may need to press it for 10 - 20 seconds extra.

If you notice the transfer is becoming transparent STOP pressing that area and do not apply any more heat. If your garment is something other than cotton or mesh, we suggest taking the same approach as you would for mesh.

  5. Repeat across your entire transfer until each section has been pressed.

  6. Once the iron-on has cooled slightly but is still warm, lift a corner of the liner and gently and SLOWLY peel it away from the garment at a 45-degree angle. If you find some parts of your transfer are lifting simply press the liner back down and reapply the iron. Go slow and be gentle! If possible, hold down exposed parts of the transfer while peeling back the liner.

Voilà!

Iron-on care
Allow 24 hours for the transfer to adhere before washing. Do not bleach or use harsh chemicals to clean. Hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of the transfer. Machine wash and tumble dry inside out where possible. If areas lift after washing, simply follow the application instructions for that section to reapply.

Please note, we take no responsibility for any damage to your garment rendering it unusable.

Applying our layered iron-on transfers

Layered iron-ons have the same application as our regular iron-ons except you'll be doing it twice.

What you'll need

  1. Your iron-on transfers

  2. An iron

  3. Your garment

  4. A cover sheet to avoid scorching your garment (i.e an old shirt or scrap fabric)

If your garment is MESH OR OTHER, set your iron to a low-medium heat setting

Instructions

  1. Iron your garment to ensure it's flat and free from any wrinkles or moisture.

  2. You'll need to determine which is your base transfer, and which is your top. You can do this by laying your transfers on top of each other to figure out which way around they go.

  3. Remove the backing liner from your BASE transfer. For iron-on transfers, the backing liner you peel away is white.

  4. Place your BASE transfer in the desired position on your garment, liner side up. When you look at your transfer, it should be positioned how you want the final result to look with the liner on top.

  5. Place your cover sheet over the transfer. Place the middle of your heated iron down on top of the cover sheet and transfer and press down firmly. The press duration varies depending on the fabric.

  8. Remove the backing liner from your TOP transfer.

  9. Spend some time placing the top transfer as centred as you can on top of your base layer BEFORE you apply heat and press.

  10. Place your cover sheet over the transfers. Place the middle of your heated iron down on top of the cover sheet and transfer and press down firmly. Press, then remove the heat and check the transfer. You can test the adherence by peeling back the liner and seeing if the transfer has stuck. Applying our vinyl transfers (stickers)

What you'll need

  1. Your vinyl transfer

  2. Your desired transfer surface

  3. An alcohol wipe (included)

  4. Your EFTPOS card (sorry, we're gonna need this again)

  5. And an adult (if you don't consider yourself one)

Prep
To make sure the application surface is clean and free of all hair, wipe it down with the included alcohol wipe. Allow 2 - 5 min for the surface to dry.

Optional: You can take a pencil and ruler and draw a straight line to map out where you want your vinyl decal to go.

Instructions

  1. Remove the backing liner from your transfer at a 45-degree angle. For sticker transfers, the backing liner you peel away should be white. If you find the design doesn't separate from the backing, simply press the transfer tape back onto the backing and use your EFTPOS card to smooth it over. Attempt to peel away again.

  2. Once the backing is removed, hold both ends of the transfer tape and attach a small area in the centre of the vinyl to the centre of your surface.

  3. Use your EFTPOS card to smooth the design onto your application surface, working outward from where you attached the small area and removing any bubbles.

  4. Once smoothed over, lift a corner of the transfer tape and peel it away from the surface (and design) at a 45-degree angle.

Voilà!

Vinyl sticker care
Keep the vinyl and surface dry for 24 hours after application. Ensure surface is clean and dry before applying transfer. Do not bleach or use harsh chemicals to clean. Wash gently when required. If areas lift after washing or use, simply follow the application instructions for that section to reapply.
